University Park Elementary School
On behalf of Team Kids and our Public Safety Partners, we applaud the students and families of UP for taking action on four critical community issues.
• Hunger
Goal: Fill 4 barrels
Outcome: Filled 6 barrels of food to feed struggling families served by Human Options
• Homelessness
Goal: Collect 1 vanload
Outcome: Collected 1 vanload of clothing, books and toys for Southwest Community Center to help other families in need
• Environment & UP Garden
Goal: Collect tools and supplies to start a UP Garden
Outcome: Made a great start! Continue to bring supplies!
• Child Protection
Goal: Conduct a school wide carnival and donate 100% of the proceeds to Orangewood Children’s Foundation
Outcome: $137.60 raised. Principal Rydman met the Principal’s Challenge Goal at the Carnival too by dressing as Panther Pride! The carnival was a huge success!
Throughout the Team Kids Challenge month of service, UP students learned the power they have to make a difference for others. Congratulations to the fifth and sixth graders who served on the Team Kids Leadership Team, and for the entire school on an awesome month helping others.
