Irvine's Global Village this October 2nd was a wonderful event. The Team Kids staff and our wonderful volunteers handed out homemade LemonAid as they met and interacted with the community, and spoke about our mission. It was a great preview of what's to come on MLK Day when kids all over Orange County will host their own LemonAid Stands with proceeds benefiting different charities. Another great activity at the Team Kids booth, bookmark making! Children were encouraged to make a bookmark promoting literacy, later to be placed in the 8,900 gently used books that were donated to the Early Literacy Book Drive held on the same day as Read for the Record, October 7, 2010.
